Aunjanue Ellis
Aunjanue Ellis-Taylor is an American screen and stage actress who is best known for her film roles as a character in Ray Undercover Brother and on the television series The Mentalist. She holds a BA in African-American Studies from Brown University as well as an MFA in Acting from the Tisch School of the Arts New York University. Aunjanue Lisa Ellis is an actor, producer and American actor active in the theatre, television and film. Her career began in theater and later appeared in numerous TV shows and independent as well as mainstream films. She rose to fame as Miranda Shaw in ABC's Quantico, and also appeared on BET's epic drama The Book of Negroes. Both of the roles she was praised by critics and received numerous awards and nominations, among them the Television Critics Choice Award for Best Actress. In 1995, she was the first actress to make her debut with The Tempest as Ariel. Her stage credits include Come and Gone Drowning Crow and Seeking the Genesis, a Broadway production of Joe Turner. Her most well-known work is her work in Men of Honor and the Caveman's Valentine The Express & The Help. The role she played as a regular in ABC's drama police series High Incident earned her praises.
