Sharon Yvonne Stone is the only daughter from Dorothy Lawson (an accountant) and Joseph William Stone II, an engineer and tool maker. She was also a employee of a plant. Sharon was born on 10 March 1958in Meadville Pennsylvania. She has three siblings: Michael, Kelly, and Patrick. Stone began second grade in kindergarten at age five. She graduated with a high school diploma in Saegertown in Saegertown in Pennsylvania in 1975. Stone also participated for Saegertown's Miss Pennsylvania beauty pageant, which she won Miss Crawford County. Stone relocated together with her aunt from New Jersey, where she pursued a career in modeling. In the following month, Stone signed up at the Ford Modeling Agency. After spending a year living in Milan and Paris the model moved to Europe. Stone unhappy with the fashion industry within Europe took up acting as she lived in Europe. In her 20s, she starred in the Woody Allen film "Stardust Memories" which received mixed reviews.
